Slow Cooked Tomato Chicken

Serves 4-6

This easy chicken dish is always a hit in our house. It's even better because I can pop it in the slow cooker in the morning and forget about it until dinner time.


  • 4-6 chicken breasts
  • Jar of Mild Salsa (I use Sainsbury's basics which you can buy next to the nachos!)


1. Chuck it all in the slow cooker

2. Pop on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours

3. Enjoy!


That really is all there is to it. Chuck in some chopped basil, onion powder or garlic powder if you like, but not essential.

It's perfect to serve to a weaning baby as half a breast as they can pick it up and tear bits off. For an older child, I have shredded the chicken and stirred in some pasta to make a "chicken, pasta, tomato" dish. It's so versatile and yummy.
